Top 10: Spring Wardrobe Essentials

I love spring, and I love spring fashion even more – hemlines get shorter, long sleeves turn to sleeveless, wedges get pulled out of the dark closet. Florals and lace make a comeback, chiffons show themselves to the outside world – spring is the BEST.

I’m going to highlight my top 10 wardrobe essentials for the spring season. The best part is these pieces are affordable and can be worn well into the summer, and maybe even fall depending where you live.

Basic White T-Shirt

Who doesn’t love a good white tee? The sometimes-problem with white t-shirts is that they get dirty quickly, but that’s never stopped me from wearing them! Depending on your style, you can go with a v-neck or a crew, but whatever neckline you choose, make sure the tee is not see-through – unless that’s your thing too; in which case, get on with your bad self!

My absolute favorite white t-shirt is the Vintage Wash Crewneck from Gap. It’s semi-fitted, not sheer, and only $20! Sometimes, you can even find them on sale which is a total steal.

White Jeans

Spring never sprung without a knockout pair of white jeans. Good white denim can be dressed up or down depending on how you style them, and they are 100% timeless. Add a little spunk by going with a distressed pair, or keep it classic in a pair of bootcut ones.

I’ve had this pair from Zara for years, and they’re still going strong.

Classic Denim Jacket

Another piece that never gets old is a denim jacket. Some of my favorite outfits are a denim jacket with a dress and wedges or white jeans, cheetah flats, and a denim jacket. It’s not too warm but oh so cute.

I have one similar to this from H&M that’s been rockin’ for quite some time now. Pair with the jeans linked above, and you’re set.

Block-heel or Wedge Sandals

It’s no secret by now that I LOVE shoes, but these are my favorite style, no doubt. Wedges and block-heels can be worn casual or dressed up for a night on the town, but either way, they are totally in for the spring and summer seasons.

Check out my Spring Shoes post for more details about a few of my favorite pairs. In the meantime, these ones by Steve Madden and these ones also by Steve Madden are going in my top picks.

Strappy Flats

Maybe my favorite trend for spring is the day-to-night wearability. Strappy flats can be worn to work, to date night, to a baseball game – it’s all up to how you style them. Make sure you get a pair that fits well though because they can also cause some nasty blisters if they rub in the wrong places.

A couple of my favorites are these ones by Steve Madden and these ones by GC Shoes.

Casual Sneakers

Adidas are totally on trend right now. I can’t walk 50 feet without seeing them at least once! Which is awesome because they’re the perfect casual sneaker. Personally, I’m in love with the classics.

But no worries if that’s a little too unexciting for you because embellishments are so stylish and cute. I love this pair from Michael Kors.

Shirt Dress

Ever feel like wearing a dress but want to look cool and totally effortless? Enter the shirt dress. These are everywhere lately and for good reason, they’re versatile and adorable! A few of my favorites are this tassel dress by Loft and this slightly dressier style by Banana Republic.

My very favorite style right now is an off-the-shoulder chambray version! The epitome of spring fashion!

Girlfriend Jeans

I don’t know about you, but I like to look cute without waiting for the moment I can put pajamas back on because I’m so uncomfortable. Girlfriend jeans solve that problem for me. Similar to “boyfriend jeans” but slightly more fitted, these are the holy grail of anyone’s “I look cute but not like I’m trying too hard” outfit.

I have this pair from American Eagle that I am obsessed with, but this pair from Levi’s is also a classic, solid choice.

Culottes are a piece that go out of style and come back constantly. They’re another piece that can easily be dressed up or down and are uber comfy. One of my favorite spring outfits is a black pair paired with a fitted, striped shirt and cute flats. #springduh

Here’s a great striped version and a classic black pair.

Cat-eye Sunglasses

What takes an outfit from good to great is the accessories, and these cat-eye sunglasses do just that!

Obviously, there are countless amazing spring and summer trends, but these top 10 are MY FAVORITE, and I hope you all agree!
